Rain Causes Hillside Slippage In Mariposa | Environment

The hillside adjacent to the new turn lane on Highway 49 at Ashworth Road is slip sliding away this morning.

The project, which was completed earlier this year, apparently did not require any erosion control on the hillside, as none was done.

Now that the county is being deluged by rain, the mud is running onto the highway. At this point, the roadway is clear, but much more rain is on the way.
