Busy Yosemite Road To Close For Repairs | News
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
A busy highway in Yosemite National Park will be closed for several weeks as crews work to repair a section of the road damaged in a rock slide.
Yosemite officials say Big Oak Flat Road -- also known as Highway 120 -- will close on February 29 between Foresta Road and El Portal Road.
Visitors from Merced and Mariposa can still access Yosemite Valley on Highway 140, while those from Fresno and Oakhurst can use Highway 41. Foresta Road, between Foresta and El Portal, is not accessible.
Highway 120 was closed last month for about a week after large boulders fell onto the road. Crews cleaned up the mess and laid a temporary gravel surface.
Park officials hope to reopen the road by Easter weekend.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
