Photo Gallery | Grass Fire Erupts In Bear Valley
A grass fire broke out in the Mariposa County community of Bear Valley Friday morning.
Firefighters were called to the fire near Highway 49 and Bear Valley Road shortly after 10 a.m.
A helicopter was brought in to help crews knock down the flames as they moved toward the community of Bagby.
The fire charred about eight acres.
At one point, the fire threatened three homes. None of those homes were damaged.
According to the Mariposa Gazette, the fire was reportedly ignited by a lawn mower.
